yesterday.....
We went to see "Because of Winn Dixie" yesterday and we loved it!!!!
but, I have to tell you a funny:
I was down in Florida last fall, we were working with the Salvation Army at this college passing meals to victims of the hurricanes. Anyway, I was serving this cake to the folks coming out of the line and almost everyone asked if it was my birthday.
I told them, "No", but they could sing to me if they liked."
Several ladies sang to me and when they asked what my name was, they all thought I said Gloria, so here they are singing, "Happy birthday, dear Gloria...."
It was hilarious!!!!
So, as we are watching this movie, the little girls meets an old lady and asks what her name is and she tells her it's, Gloria, to which my family simultaneously leans up and says, Lori?
It was funny.

I would simply like to take this opportunity to publicly profess my love (Okay, maybe not love, but it's something big) and admiration for Dave Matthews ...aka Otis in Winn Dixie. I know he's scruffy, and not the picture of a gorgeous hunk, but when he sang to Opal about her being a butterfly, I was reminded (not that I needed to be reminded, I did not) why I dig him. He just moves me. He sings and I am moved. When a singer does that, I'm a fan. I dig Dave.
Thank you Lori, for this opportunity to gush about him.
Now back to life with my hubby who IS a gorgeous hunk and absolutely moves me when he sings, when he grins and when he holds my hand. I love you, J!
