Update.....

Remember my sad friends?
Sad, no more.....
It's all good.
I like to think that it was the love of a good friend that got them through this and that without me, all would've been lost.

It's good to be me.

aaaahhhh......

My husband asked me if I knew what one of his favorite things was???
I said," when people walk into sliding glass doors."
"Right," he laughed, "but my new favorite thing is listening to you talk to our daughters.....I just love that."
AAAAHHHH.........

My hero.....

I am so excited to possibly meet Bill Ritchie, pastor of Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver, WA this weekend as I travel with our youth to the state-wide convention there.
When I was a delivery driver, I would listen to all the pastors on CSN from 10:00 to 1:30 with Chuck Missler and it was church for me, everyday!!!
Bill Ritchie was my favorite, though, and I hope to meet him and tell him what an impact his call to ministry has had on my life.
I remember going to youth conventions growing up and they were ALWAYS a blast and now, it is very strange to think that my daughter is old enough to go.
Does that make me old?????
Not old enough to have a 2nd generation BLAST!!!!
I am looking forward to what God will do in these kids' lives and how He will bless them.

Have fun:)

Re: Jericho 2005

Today, I went to have coffee with a friend of mine and we had a grand time.
She told me of a ministry opportunity through the Jericho 2005 project that involves coordinating block parties with a drama team.......now, she has no idea that I teach drama and I help assist the youth drama team at my church, she just "thought" of me.
Cool.
It was a God-thing.
So, those of you who are the "local talent" have wanted the chance to use drama as a ministry and now you can.
Let me know if you are interested....Jericho will be the first week of July.
I'm excited to see how God will use us.

A new Pope?

He is so old!!!
I predict he's short-timer.
I heard a prophesy from St. Malachi or the Apochrapha(spelling?) or somethin, maybe it was talk radio, yeah, that was it, anyway......
Do you realize that there will be 2 more Popes before the Coming Of Christ?
That means this old guy....then....one more.
You heard it here.....
I'm sure Hal Linsday will have something to say about it tonight.
I like Hal...he's a snappy dresser!

My work here is done....until next time.

I'm sad....

.........my friends are hurting.....
I want to help, to take it away....that's what friends do...we bear the load.
My favorite saying about friends is this:

"You always said I could lean on you,
and when I did....
we both fell."

It's a picture of a friend being a soft place to land.
I hope I can be that for my friends cuz I love them, dearly.
Father, Thy will be done......

To God....

How do I say thanks.....
for the things you have done for me?
things.... so undeserved,
that you pour out your love for me.
The voices of a million angels.....
could not express my gratitude.
All that I am
and ever hope to be.....
I owe it all to you.

My surprise....

Ok, so Con tells me a few days ago not to make plans for Saturday night cuz he has made plans for us, a surprise, if you will.
Have I told you that I HATE surprises????
Con knows.....he knows.
So, I can't get anything out of him and I don't know how to dress for it and I'm trying to figure out if anything good has come to our area, like...Monster trucks!!
No, he would take all of us to that cuz the girls asked if we could go.
Now, this weekend, we did a yard sale and I was pooped and, really, wanted to do NOTHING Saturday night but hang.....and so I'm thinkin' to myself that It better be good, but that's what stinks about surprises....the build-up NEVER lives up to the actual EVENT....EVER!
Right from the start, he was doomed to disappoint, which is why I try to tell him not to surprise me, but, if you are going to choose the behavior then you will choose the consequences, as I always say.
You know what it was?????
Con got tickets for the new......Tri-cities.......team(he's lost me).....the "Fever"....of Indoor Arena Football!
????????????
Well, needless to say, I'M overdressed......
The Fans were.....passionate......swarthy.
The floor, had astro-turf and it was pretty....green....looked like a dog show(that'd would've been fun).
I tried not to, but I couldn't help it....I pouted.
This was the surprise?
?????????????
OK, this one will go under the category of, "It was the thought that counts."
Thank you, honey, next time, take one of your man-friends, oh, and honey, next weekend there is a lovely Quilt-Show that I'm just DYING to drag you to.

Have fun:)

movie review......

OK, here it is......
my newest favorite movie:

"the Baptists at our Barbeque"

It is this hilarious movie parody about the the "spiritual tension" between Baptists and Mormons.
It is clean, funny, quirky, and clever....with a good message, as well.
If you liked Napolean Dynamite, you'll like this.

Have fun:)

Googlewacking.....

What's a Googlewacker????

A googlewacker is when you put 2 words into the Google search engine and you get one hit.

Seriously, there is a show on tv that is nothing but this guy going to meet the people who have a googlewacker site.

Sounds like fun....I think I'll try it.

I think I'll start with: wanderlust and Zimbabwe

You should try it, too.....

our spring break...

We had a great spring break!!!!

The kids were off in different directions and we went to the beach!!!!
We went to Ocean Park on Long Beach and had a great time with our friends, Ray and Sherri.
We had fresh seafood for dinner: 3 different kinds of oysters; steamed, fried, and barbequed with worchestershire sauce and pepper-jack cheese melted on top, fresh crab, smoked salmon, steamer clams, and razor clams lightly breaded and lightly fried.........YUM!!!!!!
The beach was cold...that's ok....it is still breathtaking.
We travelled to Astoria one day and climbed the Astoria Column which had an awesome view of the mouth of the Columbia River and the ocean.
I have to say that climbing the column was probably the highlight ( well, not the climb....yikes....164 steps straight up!). This column is one of the most beautiful architectual pieces I have ever seen!
It depicts different murals set in a frieze of Lewis and Clarks' expedition. It is gorgeous!!!!!
We finished up our trip in Seaside and Cannon Beach before heading home.
One of the "funnies" of the trip was in Seaside. We went to Doogers for lunch and when we got inside there was a sign that said,"Congratulations, Lori, it's been 15 years!" and we had just said that it had been 15 years since I've been to Seaside so, obviously, that sign was for me.
It's all about me, right?
Oh, and we found some "Happy bunny" playing cards....that was great, and I found some Happy bunny chapstick that said," Your lips are kinda ucky."
I collect funny chapsticks.....it's just what I do.

That was our week!

What did you do on your break??

I'm listening........
