maybe it's me.....

I have been pondering this subject for awhile......
Why is it important to be involved in corporate worship?????
I have struggled with worship styles at our church for a long time and a couple of weeks ago after visiting a friends' church which has a modern worship band and more than "2.3 songs" to sing, I have REALLY wrestled with this question.
Don't get me wrong, I think our church is right on doing "kingdom" work and we are growing and in the middle of a building program to grow some more......but something is missing, at least, for me and, I suspect, for my family.
There have been other problems that I have observed...people are not feeling fed or loved and are moving around within the bounds of our numerous classes to find their niche.
That bothers me......
I don't think that one should jump ship just because they are feeling.....needy....we are to bloom where we are planted and what if it isn't about US!!!!
That is what I struggle with!
I can worship God in my home, in my truck, it does not have to be on Sunday morning, in fact, it rarely is, however, am I going to leave my church???
NO!
What did the early church do "at church"?
They ministered to one another and ate together and gave up everything for the cause of Christ, together....
I guess, that is what is missing, is this...togetherness with like minded Christ followers who serve one another.....
I think, also, we get caught up in our stuff at church, that we don't listen to the Spirit's leading.....
I don't know...maybe it's me....
Maybe not.

nuthin' much.....

We're back from our trip.....it was great!
We did the whole downtown Seattle-city-Pass-thing.
It's weird to think that thanksgiving is next week!!!!
Holy cow!
Time's fun when you're havin' flies......
We had an oyster-feast with our friends that just got back from the coast last night and it was soooooo good!
I LOVE oysters.....
Did you know that the leading cause of death among beavers is....falling trees????
It's true.....
I LOVE pumpkin pie......it's my absolute favorite thing!!!
Why do I only have it at thanksgiving????
............by the way.............it's my 1 year anniversary of Blogging.........
.............I'm babbling...........sorry.
I have no point to make.
I'm feeling....random.......
I need to do laundry cuz I'm leaving for ladies retreat tomorrow and we just got back from Seattle...so, I have no clean clothes.....and I had to work yesterday and then go to dinner....yeah, so, I gotta go.
bye.

the next step.....

Thursday we will be heading over to the Seattle area to visit friends and to check out one of these "supper clubs" that we are, hopefully, going to open in our area.
Con's uncle Guenther will go with us as our "expert witness", as he is a former restauranteur of downtown Seattle and is currently retired, but, working as a test baker for Starbucks.
This is the next step in the process of getting the information we need to put together a business plan for the bank.
Scary....but exciting, too.
It is wierd to think that life as we know it will change drastically, very soon, and I haven't really thought what that will look like, but, I'm flexible.....I am.....
I do know that my laid back, do-whatever-I-want-to-do-whenever-I-want-to lifestyle is coming to a close and that freaks me out, a little.
I will have to build a bridge...and get over it.

our "fundmental" rights....

Today, I was talking to my girls about fundamental rights....and because we live in a democratic society, we are blessed with many of these rights.
Webster's defines fundamental in this way; "belonging to one's innate or ingrained characteristic."
Fundamenatalism is defined in this way; "a movement in 20th century Protestantism emphasizing the literally intrepreted Bible as fundamental to Christian life and teaching."
Interesting.....
So, in one instance fundamental is innate or ingrained to one's character, compared to the other which states, in a movement, the Bible, God's Word, is fundamental, or, ingrained in our character.
Let me see if I get this....
God's Word, the Bible, is innate or ingrained into our character?????
Makes sense doesn't it, that, we should have a fundmental right to cherish the fundamental Truth of God's Word which is ingrained in our character by the One who created all things, including our fundmental rights?
God created us to need Him, to seek Him, to worship Him.....that is our fundamental purpose.
And yet, there are many who dismiss this idea and would call "fundamentalism"
a religious fanaticism....it's not fanatical....actually, it is quite basic to our ingrained characteristics.

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse."

Evolution: Science or Religion????

I'm feeling controversial........
Pardon me, while I rant for a bit......

THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION IS A LIE!!!!!!!!!

In fact, it is also a religion.
It should not be science vs. religion, it should be religion vs. religion, because, if you define religion as Webster does, which is; "a belief system held to with ardor and faith", then, one would have to conclude that is exactly what Evolution is, a "a belief system", and a THEORY, NOT BASED ON SCIENTIFIC DATA-because it has NOT been observed nor can it be REPEATED!
Evolution is a the religion of HUMANISM and a affront to the Creator of our Universe, because at the root of the problem is a defiance to God,a rebellion, that existed in Genesis and continues today, in which we, humans, decided that we know more than God, if there is a god.
Evolutionists would say, if there is no God, then there is no absolute authority.
And if noone sets the rules, then they can make up their own to suit thier situations.
What a crock!
Evolution is a religion which enables people to justify writing their own rules....period!
It has become the so-called "scientific" justification for people to continue rebelling against God.
Now, I acknowledge that my bias is based on the bible, which I believe to be the inspired word of God, a God who observed all of the creation process because he was there.
You may disagree with me on that, but if you look at evolution from a pure scientific approach, you will see many error/lies that have been fed to the generations in schools, textbooks, universities and I simply want those lies confronted and taken out.

Well, I feel much better....

it's over.....

Judgment House is over....another great story line.....another year of great people to work with......more stories of how people were enabled by the Holy Spirit to do what they did for God's Kingdom.
It is just awesome......
This year, there were about 70 people that made new professions of faith and there were many people who were moved to rededicate their lives to Christ.
God just moved in our presence and I stand in awe of it all!
This "program" that we use every year, which is so effective to show the message of God's love and salvation, comes under attack by those who would say that we are using "scare tactics" and that these "professions of faith" are insincere.....and how can we follow up with all these people to make sure that they are discipled properly????
Well, let me tell you....we are committed to the process of discipling and teaching these new believers and as far as the "scare tactics" we use.....I think they're brilliant!!!!
These people that come through are not "churched people" and we need to be good stewards of the time that we have them in our midst....and we get right down to it.....and make no apology for it!
So, if you want to scoff...scoff.
By the way, what are you doing for God's Kingdom?????????
