what'd I miss?

Finally!
Lacey's room is done and I can go on with life!
It is beautiful, I must say, and she loves it, too, which is most important.
So, what have I missed?
Dick Cheney shot somebody?
Oh, I bet the democrats are having a heyday over that.
No worries, Dick, I hear it's still safer hunting with you than it is late-night driving with Ted Kennedy.
So, what else?
More fighting in Iraq?
No.......you'd think there was a WAR or something going on over there!
Goodness!
What's that you say?
We've leased 6 major shipping Ports to the Saudis?
THAT is the CRAZIEST thing I've ever heard.
They're just asking for terrorists to sneak into the country bent on our destruction.....that is just......assanine!
Next you'll be telling me that Hillary Clinton is running for President.
...........ha ha haha ha ha ha ha haa.

my little Lacey....

My daughter, Lacey, turned 14 years old yesterday!
I look at her and think: how did this happen?
All this growing up and such is highly over-rated...I've tried to discourage it, but, does she listen?
No!
See, what she doesn't realize is that once you're grown up, that's it, there's no going back.
It's funny to watch her, though, cuz she's a walking-talking dycotomy.
On the one hand she's all about the latest fashion and on the who's who of who- who-game and can get so self-absorbed she's like a self-induced black-hole sucking up all the personal pronouns in a 10 block radius into her SIBH!
On the other hand, she still cuddles in her blankey when she watches TV and will still suck her thumb when she's sleepy and she just recently got comfortable with venturing to other parts of the store without Mom-in-tow.
On, still, another hand, she can make a tasmanian devil look like a kitty cat and the very next moment she is at your side with a kiss and a hug....sometimes I can hardly keep up with her "changes".
So precious......
One of my favorite things about Lacey is her wit!
She can make me belly laugh competely out of the blue.....I love that.
Anyway, my Lacey is growing up and I can't stop it....but I can watch from not-so-far and be continually amazed.....
"Thank you, Father for entrusting me to be Lacey's mother.
What an honor it is to watch her grow in the knowledge of you, to see her honoring you in her conduct.
Father, give her a heart that desires above all else to honor you in all she does."
